Belfair was established in 1811 when William Telfair of Savannah married Betsey Bellinger. The Bellinger and Telfair names were united to name their new plantation. In the 1920’s Belfair’s new owner, William Mosely Swain, planted the oaks that now constitute the magnificent Avenue of Oaks. Today, Belfair is a private golf club community on approximately 1100 acres with 730 homesites and a maximum membership of 770.

Designed to be the finest practice and teaching facility of any private club in America, the Jim Ferree Learning Center at Belfair offers large multiple tees, putting and chipping greens, practice bunkers for greenside and fairway shots and a variety of target fairways and greens. Among the extensive programs offered are individual lessons, instructional clinics on all phases of the golf swing and the use of state of the art video equipment and access to customized club fitting.
FITNESS & SPORTS CENTER
The Belfair Fitness & Sports Center, with its fitness areas, pools and tennis center, is situated in a beautifully landscaped, tranquil setting removed from the hustle and bustle of the Clubhouse. The fitness staff caters to every need with a complete selection of fitness equipment and free weights. A variety of fitness programs are offered including individual fitness evaluations, personal training, Titleist Performance Institute training, TRX classes, Pilates, Yoga, tennis-specific workouts, flexibility and aerobic classes. Residents enjoy both the indoor-heated and outdoor Junior Olympic Pool where you can enjoy a healthy lunch at the poolside snack bar. CLUBHOUSE
Belfair’s elegant Clubhouse overlooks the finishing holes of the golf courses and the marshes to the Colleton River. The Clubhouse has a fully stocked Pro Shop, formal Dining Rooms, spacious Mixed Grill, full service Men’s and Ladies Locker Rooms and Card Room, all with spectacular vistas of the Colleton River. Residents enjoy the Daily Lunch, Casual Dining and Sunday Brunch menus offered on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. BELFAIR TOWNE VILLAGE
Belfair is unique in that their residents can access the Towne Village right outside the East Gate of Belfair. This development is a wonderful advantage for all Belfair residents who can access the Village in their golf carts. The Village offers a variety of services from a supermarket and pharmacy to dining and healthcare providers.
