No one looks forward to a recession, but we all know that the "good times" never last for ever. For many folks, a recession translates into a job loss and financial difficulty. It spells doom for many small businesses.
An economic downturn puts the brakes on economic growth and a deep recession like the one that has its grips on us right now, brings our economy to a grinding halt.
As I was thinking about our sad state of affairs, it came to me how fortunate I am. Certainly, the recession has made my life more challenging, but at least I get to endure the bad times while living on Hilton Head Island. There is no other place I would rather be! Just think of people that have lost their jobs and hate where they live.
I realize not everyone has the opportunity to work where they live rather than live where they work, but it is definitely a goal worth pursuing.
