Welcome to my first blog ever!!!!
I have selling Hilton Head Island Real Estate for over 30 years, and this week I was reminded what a wonderful place Hilton Head Island is to have children, raise children, and most of all, to enjoy having grandchildren visit.
I started the week off with a surprise visit to Hilton Head Hospital where my daughter who was expecting a baby on July 14 had a beautiful baby girl. Charlotte Alden May weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces. Mother and baby are fine and the Hilton Head Hospital was wonderful in every respect. The nurses and doctors in the Women's Center were very professional but also very caring and attentive. Having had our first grandchild in Savannah, we were not prepared for such a special experience right here on Hilton Head Island at our hospital We are so lucky to have such an outstanding medical facility and doctors of every specialty.
My daughter who lives in San Francisco arrived soon after the birth of Alden as well as her two and a half year old son, Charlie. Alden's big brother, Thompson, was happy to have his cousin here for he could not understand why Alden wasn't ready to play once home from the hospital. These two cousins have had the time of their life this week doing all the things my daughters enjoyed while growing up on Hilton Head Island. Days on the beautiful Hilton Head Island beach, chasing birds and crabs, watching the dolphins play in the waves, and building sandcastles. They spent a morning at the Lawton Stables in Sea Pines and besides enjoying all the animals in the petting zoo, they both actually rode a "real" horse! Picnics at the Harbour town Playground, Singing with Greg Russell under the Liberty Oak, and watching the boats were almost as much fun as eating the ice cream cones by the lighthouse.
What fun to see these precious children make the circle complete. Doing all the things that their mothers did all the years of growing up on Hilton Head made me appreciate more than ever the things that we sometimes take for granted. Nature, beauty, and family, that's what Hilton Head Island is all about!
