Planning a trip to Hilton Head for the long Labor Day Weekend this year? If you haven't attended the annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in the past, you may want to consider checking it out September 4th through the 6th.
This year marks the 29th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, which matches amateur golfers and celebrities for a weekend of great camaraderie and fun for the sole purpose of raising money for local children's charities. (While you're in town you may also want to talk about the Hilton Head Real Estate market!) To date, the event has contributed over $3,000,000 to charities with great needs. Some of the sixteen charities that will benefit from this event this year include, Volunteers in Medicine, Heroes on Horseback, Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, and The Children's Center. The three day event will be attended by, to name a few; sports figures Sam Jones, Sterling Sharpe and Earl Morrall; coaches Bobby Cremins and Bucky Waters; composers Branford Marsalis and Paul Williams and sports commentator Jim Huber. I have attended this event for the past seven years and it has always been fun to watch everyone having such a great time, not to mention the beautiful venues where the event takes place.
On Friday, September 4, the tournament will take place at the Arthur Hills Course in Palmetto Hall Plantation. Saturday, September 5, the Robert Trent Jones course in Palmetto Dunes will play host to the celebrities. On Sunday, September 6, the infamous Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort will be the center of activity. Attending the event is a great way to get a chance to experience these three courses and Plantations. The best thing is that the tournament is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.
