Mike Broadhurst joined Carolina Realty Group in November of 2008, the latest advancement in a real estate career that began in 1984. A consistent top-performer no matter what his endeavor, Mike’s success is built on a desire to provide his clients the best possible service by keeping them abreast of market trends with timely and relevant information. He started a successful real estate career in 2000 when he joined Gerry Prud’homme at Sea Pines Real Estate Company. That was preceded by 16 years in the mortgage banking industry, which brought him to Hilton Head Island in 1992 when he helped the National Bank of South Carolina start its local mortgage loan operations. Mike’s real estate expertise covers a diverse venue. Though he has always lived off the island in either private golf course communities or near the pristine waters of the May River, he has also owned near-ocean property at the beach as well as commercial real estate. His financial background has proven invaluable to clients looking for investment opportunities that run the market gamut, while his broad-based knowledge of the area has helped others identify the perfect primary or second home. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., was raised in Alexandria, Va., and attended the University of Richmond, where he was a B.A. graduate with honors in 1977. He was actually a reporter with the nation’s oldest daily newspaper in the late ‘70’s, but became involved in sales and marketing in 1980. His real estate career started in 1984 when he accepted a position as a lender with Dominion Bankshares in Fairfax, VA. Mike loves spending time with his wife Yvonne and children, Chad and Corby, as well their spouses and grandchildren. Once an avid amateur golfer, he can occasionally be found on the course proving that a 6-handicapper really can shoot 90, but otherwise spends his free time providing encouragement to inmates at nearby Ridgeland Correctional Institute and the homeless on the streets of Savannah, GA. |
